A heart filled with intellectual aspirations is all that we knew since the commencement of the school and that’s what gave us the impetus to march ahead till brilliance is achieved in all our efforts.
This report is inclusive of
 the achievements  and accolades of our school. It really gives us a great opportunity to focus on the strengths.  Our school has always been committed to create a conducive environment which assists the child to develop holistically.

We strive to focus on harmonious development by emphasizing physical, mental,artistic and ethical aspects of growth.

I am indeed privileged to have this opportunity to present before you consistent upward graph of our school’s attainments and I am grateful to each one of you for being a significant part of this glorious journey.

Academics

“Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes you great”.

Brilliance in academics is the hallmark of our school.

The year 2022 commenced on a wonderful note when we proved ourselves academically strong i.e when the results of Classes X and XII were announced . We are elated to share with you the laudable performances of our students.

Pertaining to class X, Sandeep Kaur and Armaanpreet Singh  bagged the first position with 96.4%. Manveer Kaur was second  with 94.4%. Jasleen Kaur secured the third position with 94%. In AISSCE(+2 class) , in Medical, Jasmeen Kaur  brought laurels to our school by standing first with 93.4% marks. Taqdir Kaur was second with 88.8% and Jasleen Kaur Kailey stood  third with 86.4%. In Commerce, Navdeep Kaur was the topper with 93.6%. Prachi bagged the second position . Her percentage was 91.4. Simranjeet  Kaur was third with 90.6%. Students also proved their capabilities in the field of Humanities. Manveer Kaur Johal secured first rank with 95.6%. Jasmeet Kaur Dhonoa and Harshit Kaur Mann  shared the second position with 90.6%. Prabhjot Kaur stood third with 86%. Non-medical stream was not an exception. Navreen Kaur was at the leading place with 83.8%. Navpreet Kaur was second with 81.2%. Jobanpreet Kaur got the third rank.Her percentage was 81.

I strongly acknowledge the quality, guidance and collaborative endeavors of our team of trustees as their ever ready support has always inspired us to set high benchmarks.

Co-Curricular Activities

Our school deems that a blend of physical and mental activities play a formidable role in enriching the future of learners. A multitude of activities were organized during the session.

  • We commenced the session by seeking the blessings of the Almighty. We, along with our students visited a Sikh temple in our vicinity. 
  • In the month of April 2022, wwith great enthusiasm, the birthday of a brave and valiant warrior,   Baba Jujhar Singh Ji was celebrated by the senior wing of our school. His  sacrifice  and dedication towards  the Sikh religion  was highlighted.    
  • Moreover, to elucidate the prominence of the birth of the Khalsa order by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs , the primary wing celebrated Baisakhi in the month of April.  The activities performed by them clearly revealed how Punjab reeled under religious persecution and tyranny of the Mughal rule. 
  • To bid adieu to the outgoing batch, a farewell party was organized by all streams of XII collectively.
  • A Fancy Dress and a Dance Competition were also organized for classes Nursery and UKG in primary wing . It basically pertained to making the tiny tots familiarized with the punjabi culture.
  • GHG Public School also celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April,2022. Creative posters were prepared by the students and Trees were planted in the premises of the school .
  • To imbibe apt mathematical skills among the students, an activity on the “Importance of Roman Numerals” was organized. It was conducted under the guidance of Primary Block Teachers.
  • Colouring is an excellent way for children to express themselves and develop their motor skills. Keeping this in mind, “Colouring Activity” was conducted for the students of UKG .The tiny tots learned the prominence of a multitude of colours.
  • In addition to this, to honour the accomplishments and contributions of labourers, Labour day was celebrated in the school on May 1,2022. The students were guided to respect all professions irrespective of the level and status.
  • On May 7th,2022, a Colouring Competition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle was conducted.
  • Mothers are timeless teachers in the classroom of life. To honour the pivotal role of mothers in the life of a child, Mother’s day Activity was organized in which the pupils came up with posters elucidating mothers as a building block for social cohesion and integration.
  • Also, to educate children about the Importance of Fruits in daily diet, an activity was organized for the students of LKG.
  • Our school has also conducted a lecture on “Personal Hygiene” on May 19 in which the students of UKG were guided about how to maintain freshness and remain healthy.
  • To embark upon the month of June, a Book Exhibition was organized . It was really a paradise for the book lovers.
  • NCC Camp was organized from 1st June to 15th June,2022. Apt activities were scheduled to imbibe the traits of discipline and correct work ethos.
  • Keeping in view the instructions of DC , Ludhiana and safety of students against Covid-19, GHG Public School Sidhwan Khurd scheduled a Vaccination Camp for classes 6th to 8th.
  • Teej festival was celebrated with full excitement on 30th July,2022.
  • We feel thrilled to apprise you that GHG students also won prizes in Religious Competitions held at Sidhwan Kalan. Students are always inspired to participate in these types of competitions as these inculcate ethics and moral values among students.
  • To celebrate Independence Day, a function was organized in which different types of events were presented by students like group song and taekwondo performance. Speeches were also delivered by students.
  • A Declamation Competition was conducted for class IV students . The Key intent was to assist students master the English Language.
  • To honour the mentors who shape the future of nation , Teacher’s day was celebrated in the school. Students delivered speeches and recited  A Card Making Competiton was also organized.
  • On September8,2022, Investiture Ceremony was conducted in which selection was done for the administrative council.
  • A fun filled Kids Carnival was organized for the children of pre-primary and primary under the banner of Ludhiana Sahodya School Complex on 1st October,2022. As many as 19 schools and 191 students participated in this carnival.
  • An unmatched achievement was depicted by students in The Model United Nations, in which Madhvan Sood, won second prize for Best Diplomat, Manveer Kaur bagged second prize for Best Delegate ,Navreen Kaur won first prize as Best Delegate and Prachi got second prize for Best Diplomat.
  • Founder’s Day was celebrated on 22nd October,2022.
  • To mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and appreciate the endeavours of students, Children’s day was celebrated in the school.
  • Our students got excellent remarks during the NCC audit in December,2022 . The commanding officer applauded our efforts and gave assurance for 50 vacancies for senior division.
  • To mark the winter season, an Online Activity was conducted for generating awareness in pre-primary kids. The main purpose was to build confidence, develop oratory skills and self expression among students.
  • Lohri was celebrated with great zeal. On this auspicious festival, everyone wished for prosperity,warmth and happiness.
  • Our students won second prize in Poster Making Competition conducted at DAV Public School Jagraon. It was primarily in regards to celebration of National Road Safety Week.
  • In addition to this, on the eve of Republic Day, “ Craft Paper Activity, Hand Impression Activity and Flag Making Activity” were conducted in our school. Students also  showed great enthusiasm in participating in Dish Making Competition.
  • To honour the meritorious attainments of our students, Prize Distribution Function was organized in the month of February,2023. Brigadier, Jasjit Ghumman , group commander, NCC was the chief guest of the day.

Sports

“Champions are made from something they have deep inside them — a desire, a dream, a vision.”

We have a strong urge to imbibe the spirit of athleticism, teamwork and unbridled passion among students.

  • Gurkirat Singh,a student of Class 10th D has really proved a great sportsman by charging the air with the spirit of competition. He showcased his prowess and palpable energy by being a medalist in State level weightlifting championship for two times. He got selected for national championship in  WEIGHTLIFTING (Weight category 81 kg).
  • Another enthralling showcase of will power and stamina was by Arshvir Singh student of Class +2Arts .He participated in State level KABADDI
  • “Boxing is an imitation of life . You get knocked down and you get back up.” Pratha ,a student of Class +2Com proved the fact by being a medalist in State level BOXING She did it thrice.
  • Another player who added a feather to the cap is Rishaminderpreet Kaur , a student of Class 8th   participated in State VOLLEYBALL (U-14) State championship for two times.
  • Gurleen Kaur,a student of Class 7th B and  Agamdeep Kaur , a student  of Class 8th Dparticipated in State VOLLEYBALL (U-14) State championship. They  did it twice.
  • “If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” This is what Mehak Toor,a student of Class XII Medical proved by being a gold medalist in HANDBALL (U-19)  state level championship for two times.
  • Jaskiran Kaur, student of Class +1Medical participated in State HANDBALL (U-17) level championship.
  • “You have to fight to reach your dream.”Jaskaran Singh,a student of Class 9th C proved it by winning a silver medal in FOOTBALL State level championship.
  • Navraj Singh Khaira student of Class +1Arts participated in FOOTBALL State level championship.
  • In addition to this many students participated in various sports events during the Annual Sports Meet and won many prizes which depicts students’ enthusiasm and passion in sports activities.

Sahodya Attainments

  • Guru Hargobind Public School made a clean sweep clinching title in the Girls(under-19) Handball Tournament organized by Ludhiana Schools Sahodya West at GHG Academy,Kothe Baggu,Jagraon.
  • The school has won second title in the boys(under-17 and 19) groups and girls(under-17) group held on 26th and 27th August,2022 under Ludhiana Schools Sahodya(W) Handball tournament.
  • On 16th October, 2022, our U-17 girls won gold medal and U-19 girls won third position in Volleyball Sahodya School Competition.
  • A Football Competition was organized from 15th and 16th November, 2022 under the banner of Sahodya School Complex( West,).IPS Harjeet Singh, SSP,Ludhiana (Rural),Punjab was the chief guest for the day.

Orientation Programmes

 
  • A programme on Awareness Camp about Traffic Rules was organized in the school in the month of May,2022. The key resource persons were Mr.Gurbinder Singh(DSP,Traffic Police), Mr.Naval Kishore Kaura(President of Safe Drive,Save Life) and ASI Mr. Harpal Singh. The teachers and the students were guided about the pivotal role of traffic rules .
  • Keeping in view the Importance of Good Communication Skills, a session was organized for the faculty members. The resource person of the day was JC CA Sakshi Mahajan, Zone Trainer . All the educators of our school learned the prominence of vocal,verbal and visual communication.
  • In the month of November 2022, a workshop on “Financial Literacy and Use of Digital Tools” was organized for the teachers. The main purpose of this interactive session was to develop financial knowledge and confidence for managing their money.
  • An interactive session on “Cyber Security and Career Counselling” was organized in the month of December,2022 . The key speaker of the day was Mr.Harjit Singh(SSP, Ludhiana Rural). The faculty as well as the students were made aware about the various types of cyber crimes and the precautions that can be taken to curb the issues pertaining to cyber crime.
