The small village of Sidhwan Khurd in District Ludhiana is well-known for its premier institutions of higher learning for females and finds prominent place in the Educational Map of Rural India.In 1908 Kaka Ujagar Singh, the only son of Bhai Sahib Bhai Narain Singh ji and Mata Ram Kaur Ji was suddenly snatched away from them by the cruel hands of destiny. The grievous and unexpected loss of the sole heir of their property dealt a stunning to the unfortunate parents who felt completely shattered and dismayed by this almost unbearable loss. In this sad hour of their terrible grief, they found some solace in their only daughter Bibi Harparkash Kaur, upon whom, hereafter they concentrated all their attention and decided to bring her up like a son by imparting her good education.

Guru Hargobind Public School, Sidhwan Khurd was started in 1977 by Sri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust Sidhwan Khurd to meet the incessant demand of rural people to start an English Medium School on modern lines by adapting latest techniques of education. It was christened as ‘Guru Hargobind Public Sr. Sec. School’ in the sacred memory of the Great Sixth Guru ‘Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji’ who had sanctified the soil of village Sidhwan by his holy presence about 412 years ago. It is situated at a distance of 32 Kms from Ludhiana and 8 Kms from Jagraon on the Ludhiana Ferozepur Highway and Ludhiana Ferozepur Railway line of Northern Railways.

Guru Hargobind Public School from its inception has undertaken the big challenge of educating thousands of hearts in this northern part of the country to become good citizens and humble human beings at the service of the nation and humanity. A committed and supportive management team, dedicated teachers, caring and co-operative parents blend harmoniously to create a child-centric school and through collaborative efforts we can achieve more to benefit our students who are the future leaders of tomorrow. Guru Hargobind Public School tends to go to every extent to achieve holistic development of our children where we guide students to develop capacities, acquire knowledge and virtues and provide service. We are on a path of building an ideal structure for education, liberal ideas and atonement in Science and Technology which would prove best for our future generations. We try to encourage our children to unleash their fullest potential.

Infrastructure

The campus is comprised of magnificent building with extensive Playgrounds, Library, Science Laboratories, Art Room, Music Room, Sports Room, Computer Labs, First-Aid Room, Geography Lab, Composite Science Lab and Activity Room etc. Extension in building is going on.
