Guru Hargobind Public School under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, Sidhwan Khurd organised a blithesome “English Fest and Radio Jockey” for the children of Primary, Middle and Senior Wing under the banner of Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (West) on 7th October 2023 in the school premises. As many as 17 schools and around 103 students became part of this event. The fest encircled a variety of activities including Story Telling, Poem Recitation, Elocution, Poster Designing, Declamation and Radio Jockey. The foremost purpose of this event was to serve as a common platform, fostering the promulgation of incalculable knowledge and experiences. The participants gave a splendid display of various activities with their stunning talent. The Chief Guest of the day was S. Manvinderbir Singh (PPS) (SP LUDHIANA Rural Punjab). S.Kirpal Singh Bhathal, (Manager), S. Harmail Singh, (member) of S.G.H.U.Hari Trust and Dr. Shweta Dhand, principal of G.H.G Institute of Law were also present to grace the occasion. The observer of the event was Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur Brar, Principal of SGND Convent School Andlu. The stage was conducted by Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Ms. Ashima. Guest items were also there for the amusement of the audience like the welcome group dance, duet bhangra dance performance and duet folk song performance. In a story telling activity, the first position was bagged by Divita Kansal of Peace Public School . In Poem recitation activity, the first position was secured by Minaaz Bano of Peace Public School. In Elocution activity, the first position was secured by Aadya Jain of Peace Public School. In Poster Designing activity, the first position was secured by Bhavya Sharma of Peace Public School. In Declamation activity, the first position was secured by Navpreet Kaur of Partap Public School, Ludhiana. In radio jockey activity, the first position was bagged by Arman Kaur Dhillon and Arshpreet Kaur of Sacred Heart Convent School, Jagraon. The Overall trophy was bagged by Peace Public School. In his address, Chief Guest S. Manvinderbir Singh (PPS) (SP LUDHIANA Rural Punjab) complimented the school for combining the pursuit of knowledge and other activities for personality development and for nurturing the talent of the students.The principal Mr Pawan Sood gave away the prizes to the students and congratulated all the winners. Token of thanks was given to all the Judges. He appreciated all the participants and said that such type of events must be celebrated frequently to awaken the feelings of enjoyment and confidence among students.He applauded the efforts of staff for successfully conducting the event. The event became successful with the efforts of wholesome contribution of the English Department.
