The Inter-School Level Chess and Carrom Tournament under the banner of Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (West) inaugurated at G.H.G Public School, Sidhwan Khurd on 10th August and the final tournament held on 11th August 2023 under the guidance of Respected S. B.S .Sidhu (Retd. D.G.P), President of S.G.H.G.U. Hari Trust . Mrs Sarvjit Kaur Manuke ,MLA (Jagraon) was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the tournament. S.Kirpal Singh Bhathal ,Manager of S.G.H.G.U. Hari Trust was the guest of honour of the day. In Chess Event, U-17 category (Boys) the winner school team was DAV Centenary Public School, Jagraon ,the first runner up school team was Tejas Public School , Sidhwan Khurd and the second runner up school team was Spring Dew Public School ,Nanaksar .In U-17 category (Girls) ,the winner school team was DAV Centenary Public School , Jagraon , the first runner up school team was Tagore Public School ,Birmi and the second runner up school team was Everest Public School , Ludhiana .In U-14 category (Boys) the winner school team was DAV Centenary Public School ,Jagraon ,the first runner up school team was Tagore Public School ,Birmi and Peace Public School , Ludhiana was the second runner up school team . In U-14 category (Girls) ,the winner school team was Peace Public School Ludhiana , the first runner up school team by Tagore Public School ,Birmi and DAV Centenary Public School , Jagraon was the second runner up school team .In Chess Event , overall trophy was won by DAV Public School, Jagraon . In Carrom Event, U-17 category (Boys) the winner school team was New G.M.T.Sr. Sec. Public School, Haibowal ,the first runner up school team was B.C.M. Arya School,Lalton Khurd and the second runner up school team was St. Martha’s Bethany Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School,Rurka Kalan . In U-17 category (Girls) ,the winner school team was Roop Vatika Sr.Sec.School, Jagraon , the first runner up school team was S.Sobha Singh Public Sr.Sec.School,Raikot and the second runner up school team was Peace Public School ,Ludhiana .In U-14 category (Boys) ,the winner school team was St. Martha’s Bethany Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School,Rurka Kalan , the first runner up school team was Tejas Public School, Sidhwan Khurd and the second runner up school team up was G.H.G Academy,Khandoor. In U-14 category (Girls) ,the winner school team was G.H.G.Public School , Sidhwan Khurd , the first runner up school team was St. Martha’s Bethany Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Rurka Kalan and New G.M.T. Sr. Sec. Public School,Haibowal Kalan was the second runner up school team. In Carrom Event, overall trophy was secured by St. Martha’s Bethany Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Rurka Kalan. The observer of the tournament was Mr. Gurdeep Singh ,Vice Principal of Baba Shri Chand Public School, Nurpura .The Director Mr S.K. Nayak and Dr. Shweta Dhand , Principal of G.H.G Institute of Law and Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Principal of Girls High School were also present to grace the occasion.On this day,a group dance performance was given by students of G.H.G Institute of Law. In her address, Mrs.Sarvjit Kaur Manuke complimented the school for combining the pursuit of knowledge and other activities especially sports for personality development and for nurturing the talent of the students.She congratulated the students and motivated them to go for higher official jobs. The Principal of the school Mr.Pawan Sood appreciated the efforts and cooperation of all the students and staff members.The Incharge of Chess event was Mr.Rohan and Carrom event was Mr.Harmandeep Singh. The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
