The Inter-School Level Chess and Carrom Tournament under the banner of Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (West) inaugurated at G.H.G Public School, Sidhwan Khurd on 10th August ,2023 under the guidance of Respected S. B.S .Sidhu (Retd. D.G.P), President of S.G.H.G.U. Hari Trust .In Chess total 24 schools with 292 players across the district in two age groups of U-14 and U-17 category both girls and boys are participating and in carrom 24 schools with 172 students across the district in two age groups of U-14 and U-17 catergory both girls and boys are participating on 10th and 11th August 2023. Mr.Bhisam Pandey ,Naib Tehsildar (Sidhwan Bet) was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony of the tournament. Mr.Arvinder Preet Singh , World Amateur Chess Champion , President of LDCA was the Guest of Honour of the day. On this occasion, S.Pritam Singh Johal , Member of S.G.H.G.U. Hari Trust welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour of the day. The observers of the tournament were Mr. Gurdeep Singh ,Vice Principal of Baba Shri Chand Public School, Nurpura and Mr. Chander Shekhar, Principal of Jitendra Public School,Sudhar .The Director Mr S.K. Nayak of G.H.G Institute of Law and Principals of Sister Institutes of Sidhwan were also present to grace the occasion.In his address, Mr Bhisam Pandey appreciated the efforts of the school in organizing today’s tournament . The Guest of the honour , Mr.Arvinder Preet Singh applauded the efforts shown by all the teams .The Principal of the school Mr.Pawan Sood appreciated the efforts and cooperation of all the students and staff members. Ms.Harpreet Kaur and Ms.Ashima were the stage secretary of the day.
